Got the v3 back as a v3i.
Very impressed with Whites as usual.
basically set everything up the same as the v3 though.
I didn't find polar plot of great use.
I use Spectro screen, pinpoint and pinpoint for analyze mode yet.
Modulation is exactly different from the v3.
0= deep targets sounding faint on v3
6= deep targets sounding faint on v3i
Stereo mode works awesome with my wireless ear buds.
I do feel there is a slight depth gain and seems a little quieter with the D2 in my test bed but will never know for sure without side by side tests.
Personally if a person has to pay $125 for the upgrade I feel it's iffy.(I suppose I would do it to be safe on the depth thing)
You do gain stereo if you use headphones. If you don't know the machine well there is plenty of info on it. Otherwise ??

It'll take a bit but I think you'll find the upgrade to be much nicer to have. (For me it was.) Try going back to some tougher conditions you've done in the past. Nice!

I upgraded the Vision to V3i and although I have only used it a few times since, the thought of trying the polar plot didn't occur to me while out in the field. I like the audio upgrade.
Although for 125 to get it upgraded, I feel if I didn't do it, I'd probably keep thinking about doing it, and I didn't want to keep that floating around in my head for another season.

I did hit a spot today before work that had high EMI in a certain location. The machine did run smooth with a higher disc and rx than the v3 did. I was impressed.

I had a Vision and my comparison with the other leader was very close with a slight edge to the Brand-X. I now have the V3i and feel it easily beats the Brand-X.
