HELLO EVERYONE
WHY DON'T THE NEW OWNERS OF WHITES VISION DO A TEST GARDEN. LET US KNOW THE DEPTH ON SILVER COINS, GOLD RINGS. AT 1700 DOLLARS LETS FIND OUT WHAT IT CAN DO. WHEN I DETECTED IN 80,S THAT WAS THE FIRST THING WE DID TO BETTER UNDERSTAND OUR MACHINE AND WHAT SETTING WORKED BEST. IF THE DEPTH IS NO BETTER THEN DFX LETS US KNOW PLEASE . I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE BELLS AND WHISTLES IT ALL COMES DOWN TO NEW DEPTH AND HOW STABLE IT RUNS. I HAVE BEEN USING WHITES SINCE 1979 VERY GOOD MACHINE BUT THE TRUTH IS THE DEPTH HAS NOT ALWAYS BEEN EQUAL TO OTHER MACHINE HALF THE PRICE. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE WHITES MACHINE AND VERY GOOD COMPANY. BUT WILL IT MATCH .....SE DEPTH I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PRICE AS LONG AS I GET MY MONEY WORTH. SO PLEASE ANY NEW PERSON WITH A VISION STEP UP TO THE PLATE LET US KNOW THE TRUTH.....THANKS JERRY

CROCK of COINS in 1984 bounty hunter had a machine out around 140.00 that my friend used. I hunted side by side whit him for 10 years I was using a whites 5000 at that time paid 260.00 for it. his machine had just as much depth as the 5000 but did not run as smooth. I'm sorry if you don't like the truth but it is what it is. and by the way that depth was 6 inches max. on a silver dime. and yes I don't care about price but a fool and his money will soon part. So don't get mad just get the facts........... thanks Jerry

In 1988 I bought the orange Radio Shack detector that sold for $19.95, but was on sale for $9.95. Now that was a really deep hunting detector. My hunting buddy used one of my other detectors, a new White's Eagle, but I out hunted him every time we went out, which wasn't often. Every time I detected a coin I would ask him to come over and compare signals and he said he can't hear anything..... I see one of the orange detectors on sale every now and then at a garage sale for about a dollar. Talk about getting your moneys worth.......... A dollar won't buy much these days, but just keep looking for one of those orange detectors with the backwards handle.

My hunting buddy at the time was my 5 year old son, he didn't know how to turn on the Eagle, let alone swing it, and I wasn't about to tell him either because I was beating him hunting every time. 22 years later, I still carry the bragging rights that my $9.95 Radio Shack detector could out hunt the White's new Eagle............:crylol:

I have a unmarked quarter buried out back that I can get with my Explorer & Sovereign when conditions are right, (moist soil).. .Well the soil is plenty moist and with the Explorer XS was able to locate the coin after a minute or so ..With sens at 32 man gain on 9 I was able to get a iffy tone but after playing with it could get a good top right lock on the smart screen. In pin point I got the putt putt putt sound you get on a deep coin.. Again, this was at 32 man sens which is higher than I can use 90 percent of the time.. This is with the white stock 10.5 " coil ..
The Sovereign is the GT with a 10" BBS coil.. The tone was nothing more than a threshold change. When switching to all metal I could locate the coin, then with the coil center over the coin switched to disc I could wiggle up the tone & id to about a 140 on a 180 meter ..180 being a silver coin.. This also was with sens maxed out and would not be use able.. I also got a slightly better tone/ID in band 1 .

The vision was in hi-pro 2.5khz , filter 5hz, recovery 25, RX9, Disc 85 ..I was easily able to recognize it as something worth checking out by the tone & it easily pinpointed in all metal at 9 1/2".. It didnt lock on to a good ID as well as the Explorer did but I had the recovery speed at 25.. I did kick up the RX& Disc a notch or 2 & it didnt help the lock on .. I didnt think to play with the recovey/anaylize speed but am pretty certain it would have helped... I have since raised my recovery speed to 45 in most areas which gives a better tone & ID lock..
So in this limited test the Vison is deeper than a Sovereign, at least as good if not better than my Explorer XS.. Remember, I was still at RX9 & Disc 85, useable settings.. It was about 38

So Larry what you are telling us is your the kind of guy that would cheat a 5 year old kid...... not good

The story is fiction nightman, the numbers don't even add up. The point I was making is that any two detectors can be compared and any one can be made to look superior over the other.

Larry, I read the same thing into your story as nightman. Hmmm...

----

Not all detector comparisons are made with a biased motive behind the statements. Some of us don't own two detectors.
