*** V3 Stock programs ???? ***

Hi all....Correct me if i am wrong whites. But having studied the standard programs built into the V3 i am pretty convinced only one person maybe two have constructed these progs !!!. If this is the case those programs are going to be very biased toward how that person hunts with a few things backed off to aid turn on and go !!. many of the things I.e S.A.T settings are the same across the board does this mean there is no point in changing it as it has little or no effect ??? How many of you have written stuff from scratch that has given good results ???. I am intrigued and think this maybe a good thread to air general prog changes that have helped.

I wondered the same thing. I know Bob wrote the Hi Pro. I really be interested in finding who wrote what programs or at least which ones where written by the same person. Maybe Bob or someone else from Whites will chime in. Good post Cloudbuster. Rob

Changes I have made to Programs I use came after a call to Whites.I ccould not get the Rx gain much above 4 .without it falsing badly but even with gain that low I was still finding stuff.Whites rep told me to lower disc to 65-70 and all metal to 50 and then turn gain up. He guarenteed it would work . I was able to increase gain to 8 and turn on tx boost in areas with powerlines.Had good results first time out with these settings I use hi pro and occasionally Propect mode for the all metal Thanks Whites I am now a Happy owner

We still haven't got an answer to Cloudbusters question. Many of the programs use the same setting across the board. Did one person write most of the programs? Only someone from Whites can answer this. Rob

I take it from the silence that i am right in my assumption !!!

Well, for what it is worth here is my two cents. The programs are made to be tweaked to suit your style & hunting area, therefore, it does not matter if one person wrote all the programs. It's just meant as a base to get you started. That is why one must "learn" their detector. I'm sure settings were tried and failed many times and the ones programmed into the unit are the best baseline settings. As all of us try different things we will discover what makes it punch down just a little deeper. That is why I/we visit forums like this one... to learn and share.

If I am remembering right the programs were put together by several different people in different parts of the country. Yazoo

That is what I thought....I's all Rons fault......
