Well, was out tonight for an hour. Found a couple dollars worth of quarters, dimes etc. And then ran across a penny signal. Dug it.. pulled out about a 7 inch copper wire. Aha.. I thought, that's it for that hole!! Swung across it again, and hit this really sweet ding!! Dug it.. out pops a 50 cent piece.

I know it's clad, not so exciting as the silver, but... I think it illustrates what we sometimes skip for targets, should be dug anyway. For me at least this is
my fourth 50 cent piece this year, I've never found this many before ever. I really like this machine. As I looked at the hole the 50 cent piece was under part of the wire...hmmmm I guess it was masking the coin.

Anyway it was a fun find!!

Hope you're all finding some fun in the hobby. (been a fun year so far for me)

Congratulations on ferreting out the Bicentennial 50 cent piece--that was one big piece of copper wire. It always amazes me when I pull a chunk of something out of hole and then re-swing to get a nice, clear signal of something better. Makes me wonder about all those other "unusual" sounding targets that I've passed over because I figured they were junk. Thanks for posting!

I can't tell you how many times I have found a good target in someone elses fresh dug hole. I don't know if they are those people who don't use a pinpointer or if they recovered a can or nail and covered the hole... who knows but yep, always check the hole again. I bet you're glad you rechecked that hole!!

Good going,

J

I've done this many times, and I saw where Cybersage also posted the same experience.

I am really running into this a lot lately Rob. Glad to hear that others are experiencing this as well.

Congrats! The correlate mode really makes a difference too. It'll average up on the VDI when a good target is mixed in with the junk. It's my primary hunt mode.
