** V3 PROBLEMS RESOLVED & Conclusion**

Hi all... If you have read some of my previous posts you will know about the problems i have had with the V3 when it first arrived... Firstly i had serious EMI problems and was unable to search within 50metres of some power lines which crossed one of my search fields. also i had intermittent problems with falsing and eratic signals also episodes of the pinpoint just not working at all.

After a very long coversation with Carl a whites he organised a new 12" super to be sent out from inverness to see if this would sort the issues. I have to say the 12" coil has transformed the machine beyond my wildest expectations into nothing short of a weopons grade coin hoover.

Now back to the EMI issue. I have tried everything reducing this adjusting that you name it we tried the lot. Conclusion in the end ???? I dont know why but i decided to use a standard pair of coventional headphones and bingo i am searching under those powerlines !!! I have no idea why this should be but i have had no further problems since switching back to normal headphones.

I have to say whites were absolutley first rate on there customer service and now the bugs have been ironed out i have what is surely the best detector that money can buy.

I the short time i have had this detector (only three weeks) i have already accumulated in excess of

I worked a few areas that were challenging, but it wasn't a headphone-related interference issue, it was just a power transmission line problem.

As for the 12" coil, however, I have found it to be quite good with the MXT and V3 for some deeper target hunting (at sites that don't have a lot of surface trash). The V3 and MXT work rather smooth with the 12", enough that I decided it and the 950 have a place to compliment the 5.3 Eclipse, which is my most-used coil.

Glad to hear your finds value is doing well. Keep it up!

Thanks for the power line interference issue with the remote headphones. I always have spare corded phones with me and I will keep this in mind.

Thanks for the update Rob.

I know you have challenging ground Monte, so could you explain why you prefer the the 9.5 over the D2? Rob
