Member
I dont know about other V3 owners but i wish there were a detail manual,,,Dont get me wrong it points you in the wright direction...Now the manual for the DFX i find is more detail in information on each adjustment....Is there a book out on the V3 yet ??????Dont get wrong i love my V3 but i want to get the best performance i can and the only was to do that is by adjusting the detector to the spot your hunting or the type of targets your looking for....

n/t

No there isn't a book and Jeff's book isn't done yet. I'm thinking it will be a while foe that book. Rob

Check out the advancved user guide its under the V3 thread on the Whites Electronics Forum.

I would think that by now some one would have come out with a book on the v3...You have all the options of the v3 and really cant use them ....
I so many others just want the best out of there detector....I hope white comes up with some thing soon.....Thanks for the reply....

I don't find the manual all that bad but there are some holes. For now....good old fashioned brain picking (Here) will have to do. (Jeff Foster's book is going too sell like hotcakes once he completes it.) If you aren't familiar with Jeff's Digging Deeper With The DFX and MXT Edge.....your in for a treat. Turns "techno speak" to "Dick and Jane". (Tough to do!)

Im all 4R the most INFO we can get on the V3/V3i but did you know that wen your on a adjustment if you push the triger forword it has a pop upexplanation of that Adjustment,
On the V3i hold down menu+press Zoom explanation of that adjustment, But you new that its the wheel that squeeks RIGHT?????????? Mickfin

Really, Jeff's book is coming slowly. Until then guys are going to have to do experimenting on their own. If you notice there aren't many discussions about V3i workings lately. I'm talking about discussions. I think too many people are just finding a factory program that works and are living with it. I run a modified Hi Pro based program and it is good, but I'm still working with my correlate and stereo mixed mode programs. I'm incorporating ideas from Yazoo, Magic and Cybersage, some I keep some I don't but I am trying them. I learned a lot but I can't wait for a book that we don't know when it will be finished. I'm making finds I never made before and am having a great time.

So we have the forum to help us in the mean time and we need to get the questions and answers started. There is a lot of knowledge floating around out there. Rob

ps For guys having trouble finding their way around the V3i manual, try this. Download a copy of the manual to your desktop. Open it with Adobe Reader. At the top got to FIND, open full reader search. Now you can type in any word like RECOVERY and it goes to the pages where the information is.

Great point Rob....we are dong well with the V3i (and not a lot of discussion on settings). Even though Jeff's book will most assuredly "turn some light bulbs on", we are using this machine to a high level of it's potential. (I haven't had a time where I couldn't get to where I needed to be...and just slightly adjusted factories.) Great place to get help here and the reason I'm where I'm at plus...the V3i upgrade.

The link for the advanced manual is also at the top of these posts.
