V3 goes to England

Hello everyone. Just got back on Saturday from a 2 week hunt in Colchester England. What a thrill! The host that lives there and runs the hunt club told me I was the first to use a V3 in his hunts and was anxious to see how it preformed. Well it passed with flying colors. The very first day it detected a 1487-89 Henry VII Hammered silver half penny at 3.5" deep. That doesn't sound so impressive but if you saw the coin you would understand. It's smaller than a shirt button and paper thin. The host told me many machines would not have picked it up. I think he was impressed. The very next day I picked up a Georgian (1700's) Gold on Silver Signet ring at 6" deep. I love rings and was really thrilled at the unexpected find. The V3 also found me a Victorian silver padlock, a 1500's serpent buckle, an 1898 silver shilling, a 1926 silver 6-pence and many more vintage items. I will post pictures in a few months when I receive the items back from England. They have to be recorded before exporting. The V3 preformed magnificently which makes me hope I made the right decision by sending my V3 in today for the upgrade. Everyone has been bragging about the upgrade so I bit the bullet and sent it to the Freeport, Florida White's office today for the upgrade. I am so tired from hunting for 14 straight days that I figured now would be a good time as I need some recuperating time anyway. I will share my opinion on the upgrade after I have had time to compare. In the mean time I will keep my fingers crossed that the upgrade is a positive move and start planning for next years trip to England!

Great report, and you won't be disappointed in the upgrade. Rob

Great report.

I am in Norway and can attest that the V3 is sensitive to small ( and low valuable conductor ) finds better then many TOP detectors.

It finds the smallest finds and it report the coke and small foil correct in the very low numbers. Many detectors run them up the scale together with the aluminium bits..

I am glad your detecting trip was fun and productive...I am looking at that site myself for a trip.

regards.

Bjorn
