V3 finds 1951 gold ring

I was up early to beat the heat this morning and went to a place i have hunted to death and the finds have diminished to about nothing, when about an hour into the hunt i got a good repeatable signal vdi jumping around 17 to around 40. so far i had only dug trash and was not expecting to see gold in the plug. I saw the bottom of the band first and thought wow a wedding band perhaps but when i pulled it out of the plug and saw the big face of it i was quite thrilled,I said to my self,THAT'S what im talking about! It was about four inches deep. on stock c&f mode with my 950 concentric coil from my mxt. I like the way the 950 see's and reports the ground and i think it pinpoints better than the 10dd. Man im still grinning. good luck out there everyone and keep diggin it up!

Nice chunk of gold Evan.....

Wow Evan WTG , I found a 6" Silver Quarter on edge Like that, A steady repeatable auido in + range 35 to 71 It did not Lock but stayed in the +s, I Like that Ring, Mickfin

What a great surprise. Congrats, that is a fine ring:clapping:

That is one classic ring! I'd get it sized and wear it...and I can't stand to wear jewelry.Very nice find.

Are you going to try to return it to the orginal owner? Always good to see the faces of people who lost class rings and military rings having them returned after 50 years in the ground!
