V3, a strange melody and autopower off..

I am not positive about this but what your friends spectra may be doing is timing out, the auto off may be activating.
No targets detected in 30mins and the detector shuts down, that is the preset time.
You need to access the expert menu to change the settings or turn function off!!

Yep, auto power off after 30 minutes. You can keep this from happening by pulling the trigger (go into pinpoint) or press any of the buttons within that time frame. The 30 minute time frame is the default because most people go into pinpoint more often than that. But, if he's not going to pinpoint, he might want to turn off the auto power off.
