whith my compadre i can tell if the coin is deep by the sound . Shallow coins make a loud sharp sound and deeper ones make a soft smooth sound when im in thick grass in the park and i hear the soft smooth sound i make a V cut in the grass so that the coin is in the center i then pry the flap open and the coin is usally right thear then i just shut the flap and you doe no ive been thear i used to dig round plugs but found this killed the grass then i dug U shaped this kill grass as well but not as badd as a round plug so i use just two cuts, i was using a strait cut but found i often ran into the object and put a good birth mark on it so now i use the V cut and its working very good pulled a qurter today out of some very thick sodd whith the V- cut i put my digger at the point of the V and pry the flap up and thear was the green coroded qurter found a deep nickle as well all the easy spots are searched so i was covering the utter trash zones and finding lots of coins im still working on my extraction allall depths i now see a need to get a small forge so i can start to make my own digging tools i destroed my coin poper trying to modify it and my EZ digger both destroyed now im thinking of getting a lesch digger o.k thats all for now
