V Nickle

I found this 1906 V Nickle today which was officially my first hunt with the Etrac. It was about 7" down and I have been over this spot with my V3i at least 3 times. I was using one of the Park Patterns for Discrimination. Somehow I got off my original pattern and could not pick up a Zinc. Too bad the Etrac will not let you name your saved slots. I later had trouble picking up a Zinc and tried to Combine it from my Quick Mask but was unsuccessful. When I get this figured out, this Machine will be a killer.

I know I will again have to hunt this Site. After a good while I decided to check my Detector and found that the Pattern I was using hit Nickles good but Rejected Zincs. For me that is a cardinal sin because a lot of good stuff is in that Zinc Range. I loaded Andy's Coin Pattern on the Etrac and noticed it hit Nickles and zincs pretty hard. I am wondering if it will hit Pull Tabs as well?

Nice find for your first eTRAC hunt!

There might be something to those new hunts. My first coin i found with my then shiny new eTRAC outside of my property was a pristine Indian.

sounds perfect... you do not want to find a zinc anyway :)

Have to find Zincs. Large Rings are there, old Wheats are there, and a lot of good tokens.

That's one reason I don't run my Disc. line above 28. To many guys run to much Disc. cherry pickin' silver. That's fine with Me as I will dig all the Injuns and V- nickels and Maybe a little gold the newb's leave behind.:detecting:
