V Nickel

Rob (IL)

New member
I hit the high school Sunday and found this 1901 V nickel. This school has been hunted to death in the past and I have never found any silver at the school. This is my second V nickel at the school, the other was also an 01. I found a ton of nickels again with some from the 40's and 50's which tends to make me believe that whoever is hunting or has hunted the site uses a higher discrimination. Rob

Thats a great find. You ground is really hard on those older nickels. HH Dennis in Idaho

You guessed it Rob. I've got a big smile on my face. VERY nice V nickel! Congrats. HH to all, Nancy
P.S. I've taken a brass brush to the older nickels and then put some 3 in One machine oil on them. Sometimes soak them over night in a small shot-glass. When they come out of the ground they're not worth a hole heck of a lot, so that's why I clean mine.
