V-Nickel Pocket Spill

Charles B

New member
I was treasure hunting/prospecting in North Carolina recently. It was a good trip. We found a pocket spill of 23 V-Nickels and 4 Indian head pennies, arrow heads, emerald and amethyst among all of the clad and iron. I tend to dig every signal since gold, nickels and pull tabs all ring about the same on my detector.....or maybe it's just my lack of hearing!

That's my treasure hunting buddy Katie (motorhead) in the picture. She's a disabled THer and my daughter. She's with me nearly every trip, fearless. She currently hunts from her wheelchair but we're building her an electric treasure buggy for this season since she rolled her chair last year. She's certainly proof that this sport is for everyone.

:beers:
Cheers

 Nice finds. Looks like you have a great hunting partner, they are hard to find. You will have to post picture (when done) of the electric treasure buggy. Good luck in the future, and keep the post coming. We can`t get out here in Wisconsin, but I enjoy seeing finds from others, it is inspiring. :clapping:

Tell Motorhead (Katie) we said hello ............. and keep posting those finds...

The only sure way to know what a signal is..DIG It !! I like your style. What type detectors do you two use ??

Welcome to the forum Mr. Beil, and Katie

23 V-nickles WOW! Nice job. Say hey to Katie (er I mean Motorhead) and looking forward to more pics. Don't forget a pic of the treasure buggy when it's done.

They are on extra nice condition for being the ground for a while. Everyone i have dug comes out usually red, but alwAys toasted. HH

Awesome finds there!! I really like the rough emerald pieces and arrowheads too! Must have been a great time you two had.

Carolina is hot .

Charles, you and Katie have a great eye for treasures on top of detecting a great coin spill
you searched and found numerous other artifacts, congratulation. May your partnership continue
to produce many great finds and may your time together with your daughter be forever cherished.

I want to thank everyone for your support and encouragement.
We use a Garrett Ace 250 and a Treasure Vision 2500 as well as the pro pointers.
We like to look for just about anything, coins, rocks, fossils, artifacts and pottery shards etc...
It depends upon where we are what we try to look for. The emerald came from a dry creek bed. Dry creek beds are some of my favorite places to search because they are often overlooked. I've found a few small nuggets in them as well.

Motorhead is doing well. I'm building her an electric "Treasure Buggy" so she'll have a little more freedom. We have another friend that has a disability that hunts with us too. I'd give up hunting a month of Sundays just to get them in the field to these spots so that they can have fun hunting. The motorhome works out well too....I take it into the woods and through the mud so it's there as support for those who need it.....the ladies sure appreciate the bathroom on wheels!

Very nice finds ... !!! Wishing you and your daughter good fortune and a prosperous 2013 !!
