Wen I G/B my V-3 to Track faster do i go bigger with the #s ??????
I G/B and i have it on autotrc it needs to be G/B ed every 5 Minutes,
If i dont I cant pinpoint some targets???? Thanks,

Good question.I see in the manual, only Relic and Hi-Pro use a higher ground tracking number (50).All others are preset to 25.If you have ground tracking "Report" on,it should tell you how often the detector is tracking. The manual states that excessive ground tracking speed can be detrimental to performance.Myself,I prefer to use the "Locktrack" and ground balance manually whenever I feel the need.

Hi BHNugget, Have you ben out of G/B and you cant Pinpoint a target
tiLL you G/B??? I will try locking G/B , Thanks 4R your Response, Mic

There have been a couple times when I found some deep coins with "autotrac on" when it seemed to help to manually ground balance the unit to get a slightly better pinpoint reading. Are you using pinpoint with the "VCO" turned on?

Yes I use VCO , Mic

Right out of the box I drove to a park that has been worked to death and not five feet from some old bathrooms I read a 19-20 and sure enough Out popped a 1936s buffalo nickle in ex shape and I know for a fact I had gone over the same spot with my DFX numerous times. The coin was approx. 8 inches deep. I love my v3.

Welcome hoov are you new????

Welcome to the forum Larry.

Hi all, I am new to the forum. I have been detecting since 1964 during the time of the BFO detectors. For a long while I used to enter all the West coast contest and have won all and won the first Pro event in Petaluma Ca. I can say I have used almost all detectors at one time or another. I have been sponsored by White's, Fisher, Compass and Garrett, I prefer Whites and have owned three different DFXs. I just purchased the V3 and still learning but for a fact it is out performing my DFX. The analyze mode is great. On some of the deeper coins I find when it shows some weired graph it is a coin on edge but still gives the right vdi number. I just ordered the super 12 coil that white's is offering to V3 owners for $ 99.00 and have some old parks to go over again. What I really miss the most is my Big Foot and when I called Jim Normandi ( Jimmy Sierra ) he stated that the inventor of the Big Foot has passed away and they are trying to find someone who can do the magic so it can work on the V3. They have a waiting list so if you are interested you should get on that list. Regardless of the price I want one real bad.

It might be some time, (if ever), before we will have a V3 Bigfoot. In the mean time, the DFX Bigfoot in 7.5 single frequency does a pretty good job.

How does one go about getting on this waiting list? I've sent three emails via his website and haven't heard back. I don't know any other place to look.

I feel your pain on missing the bigfoot I want one real bad too. Have talked to Jimmy also and he seems to think it will be some time if ever. He is having trouble just trying to get a bigfoot for the DFX they have started producing them but production is slow on them.
