USS Constitution model Pictures update!

but once I'm done with this model & the guy comes down and collects it I will be freed up to do a lot more huntin. Hoping to finish up on it by July. I have about 1000 hours in it now. About another 300-400 hours should finish it I hope.
HH,
Mike

When the guy comes and COLLECTS it!?! Is this a commission piece? MAN, that's impressive, for a number of reasons. Did you SCRATCHBUILD that?
As I get older, I'm trying to do ALL the things that I wanted to do as a kid. Metal detecting was one, I thought those ads in the back of Popular Science were WAY cool. Model ships was another passon for awhile, haven't done that since I was fourteen or so, not counting the bathtub tug that I built when my son was born. Maybe later... when I'm rich and famous, and have more time on my hands. I can barely get out to detect as it is (though, if I can get some work done tonight, I may be able to sneak out for an hour or two tomorrow... REALLY like this new detector!)
Lovely job-

I'm building it for a ceo of a insurance corp in CT.
This particular model is partly from a kit and partially fabricated. I call it kit bashing. I get the kit, use the plans & some of the material and make the rest myself. I obtained some wood from the real Constitution ship from the Constitution Museum, which I used to make like anchor collars, davits, cross trees, platforms etc. So the owner can say he actually have a model with the real wood built into it.
Thanks for the kind words, I hope to have it finished by July, by then I will have better then 1400 hours in it.
HH,
Mike
