Sent a coil to another forum member yesterday, today i thought i would check the tracking info. to see its progress, WELL it made it 3 postal facilities away and usps decided it would send it in reverse, the tracking info says it will be returned because it is undeliverable as addressed. ? I know it was addressed properly, not to mention that it made it 3 post offices in the right direction until they decided it wasn't addressed properly the address label were self sticking with a strip of clear packaging tape on top of them. What a bunch of idiots.:thumbdown: and they said they would return it if they had enough information:spin::rant:

This happened to me last year. USPS sent it clear across the country then sent it half way back. By the time it arrived at its correct destination, the box was severely beaten. Thanks to this "White glove" treatment, their was a gaping hole on the side of the box. USPS's solution: a clear trash bag so everyone could see the contents of the package. Now that is thinking with their dipstick....

This may not be the problem with yours, but if the edges of the tape on the label overlap it can distort the bar code. Had this happen twice.

I just looked at the tracking info again and it is all screwed up. i just noticed that It says that my package was at the second post office 'time wise' before it was at the initial post office,, i have been told that the usps tracking system is screwy. Hoping at this point that might be the case and the package is en route okay, otherwise i'm gonna be out a coil that retails for $179.00 if i can't get it back. i suppose i'll know in the next couple days.

Hi smokey63,
When i mentioned the address labels, i meant it was only address labels, the post office label was placed by the post office lady with bar code at the bottom left of the package, i'm not sure what the post office label has to do with the address labels but i know they didn't overlap and my address labels were perfectly readable.

I had the same exact thing happen to me last month. My package did make it to it's destination after riding around the country for a week. I am going to repeat myself so here goes another story that infuriated me. A year or so back, I sent a 200 dollar coil via the postal service to the buyer who is located about three hundred miles from my home. The package never got to this person and after many weeks and phone calls to my local post office, I finally got someone that tracked the package to Atlanta, Georgia. It was sitting in a lost parcel bin. How can it be lost if they have my return address on the package? I told my post office to get it back to me asap. I was assured that it would be to me within the week. Well, that was a year or more ago and I still don't have the 200 dollar coil. Now, nobody seems to know anything about this package. At this point, I would not use USPS for anything, even free or a low shipping cost.

Here is an example supposed to be delivered on January 17..well it's the 18th and it's stuck here it seems

It's the employees more so than the concept of the US Mail service... Seems the employees do not care........... No One has answers when asked and they display a I don't care attitude..

It's a 8 hour a day job to them and no more.................I think I will use private companies from now on ........... may or may not cost a little more, but at least you get answers when it's not delivered on time...

All I get is a I don't know. And it's not my problem attitude when asked why it was not delivered when I paid the extra to have it delivered............. USPS has become a joke that needs to be reorganized from the top down

I just checked and guess what still says Kentucky for three days now..I think they got me again ............ Anyone know the process for claiming on a postal money order ??? sent through the mail >>>

On a postal money order you have to put a trace on it to see if has been cashed or lost, i think there is a waiting period and i also think they charge a fee.

I checked tracking on my package and it says it has been delivered to the address i sent it to, after saying it was not deliverable for not having a deliverable address, and was returning it. USPS is screwed up. good luck

Top it off Post Office will not be open again till Tuesday to see what.s going on. This is my last time using them for anything ... I'm done !!

Tuesday will be 4 days over due for a Priority delivery Money Order................ And I imagine it will be pure hell trying to get a settlement if it's lost or stolen..

Like I stated I am so upset and post Office could care less.................

I still think with two in a row mess up deliveries, I will find an alternative way to do my shipping items and other stuff..........of importance....

I know any company can have problems ..I accept that.. But I can not accept the postal workers I DON'T Care Attitude when one has a problem..

Someone in authority really needs to look into that problem... A postal supervisor actually told me ..once it leaves his facility it isn't his problem ....... wanted to know if I wanted the receiving end phone number....

Not a good response in my opinion.... I gave him tracking etc and he should have checked it at the least !!!

Elton,
I believe one has to wait 30 days from purchase date then file.

Lost or stolen?

Whew .that takes a load off my mind................

Elton,

So glad to hear your Money Order arrived at its correct destination! It must of taken the scenic route across America.

I ordered some time sensitive material from a place about a 4hr drive from where I live. I've been tracking it for 5 days now going back and forth across the country. I have emailed them 4 times and tried to contact them by phone and have not got a response from them yet. Not sure if I'll ever get it.
Stuff happens I guess.

Thanks.................. The post office has no idea other than it may not have gotten sent out from sort destination as it should have. It's suspected someone then saw it and re-entered it to the proper destination..

A supervisor told me that sometimes when this happens the letter gets placed in dead mail files and may not resurface for months.........

One reason this might have happened is I, ME, MY FAULT..( Not USPS) is I placed it inside a larger envelope that is available for USPS Priority mail.. .....I really liked that answer..Made it my fault not theirs it was held up for 5 extra days...

In conclusion with this episode of Poor handling of mail... NO ONE at the Post Office had an answer of Why, or Where the letter was for the 5 extra days..Other than one day was a holiday........so no delivery that day.. So he pointed out it was only 4 days late not 5 as I was stating..... Unreal !!!

:crazy: Another USPS delivery at its finest, I ordered a book via the big online store with expedited shipping on Jan 20, estimated deliver Jan 23, Its travel route is from columbus ohio to southern KY. it came south from columbus to cincinatti and now on the 24th (one day late already) its back north in warrensdale PA. :rofl:or:cry:

I know one thing USPS Priority is WAY FASTER than UPS ground. I enjoy going to the Post Office. The employees are always friendly. I always ship Priority and never had a problem. I do insure just in case.

I sent a Priority Mail envelope yesterday to a person less than 200 miles away in the same state. That was on the 27th and it will not get there until the 30th. Get this four days to travel 200 miles. And they are wondering why they are in trouble and get this keep raising the rates. I guess that is to cover the fuel it takes to drive a Priority Mail envelope around for four days when I can get there in four hours. What a MESS!!!!!!!!!!
