So I bought a used detector off of this site. Transaction is great and seller is cool... but dear god the U.S.P.S. is a freaking joke. The package says it was for hours away 3 days ago and still hasn't made its way here. It ended up in the wrong town and sent to HAZELWOOD MO.... apparently this place is a freaking black hole of doom if you are a piece of mail.... save yourself and the person your buying off of a brain spasm and ship ups or fedex

I agree USPS is a nightmare........... and getting worse.

Several years ago I sent a coil to a place in West Virginia which is about 300 miles from my home. I did not insure it as it was nearly unbreakable the way I packed it. The person never received it and I constantly checked on it's status. It did a complete circle around New England and never did get to WV. I gave up on it and wrote it off as a 100 dollar lose. Six months later I rechecked the tracking number with my local post office and they found it in a "lost mail" bin in Atlanta Georgia. I told him I wanted it back and the local post master assured me that I would have it within two weeks. That was two years ago. I had a dealer ship me a detector via Priority Mail last month and I had it tracked to me to be delivered on a Saturday. I made sure my mail box was plowed out and ready for mail on that Saturday, along with my long driveway. I got regular mail, but not the detector. The next Monday was a holiday with no mail delivery so I knew it would come on Tuesday. I was watching for the mail and when he came, he put my mail in my box and drove away. Again, everything was freshly plowed so he could deliver it. I caught up with him a mile away and was somewhat angry, but civil. He had put an "unable" to deliver slip in my box and made no attempt to deliver it to my door. I was furious to say the least. The US Post Office wants to get in on the high profit delivery business, but when they are not accountable, they should stay the !@#$ out of the business. Dealers if you read this, please take notice. The Post Office comes across as a real business with computer tracking and such, but if their employees are not accountable, they are an imposter. I will never deal with the USPS again. If they shipped for free, I would still avoid them like the plague.

I am homebound due to health reasons I 'm always home big note on door saying so to ring doorbell for all delivery for USPS,UPS and FEDEX but to no avail I still get pink slipped. And get this they are closing Roanoke Va distribution sorting office and all Roanoke mail will now go to NC sorted and then returned to Roanoke VA. I use to get pissed off when it took 2days to pass mail from one USPS to another in same city here in Roanoke now its going out of state to be sorted only to be returned of same place to be delivered Come on something is wrong here no wonder they are losing money and operating in the red. PISSED OF WITH USPS IN ROANOKE!!!!

Hazelwood is the sorting hub for all of the Midwest. A lot of stuff goes through there, usually within 12 hours or less if you watch the tracking.

are you saying that they are leaving a attempt notice without ringing the bell. if thats the case all you have to do is call the postmaster and it will never happen again

how many of those days were they not able to get out because of the snow. at least one of the days here the governor declared a state of emergency and they weren't even allowed out on the streets.

Most cases I can ship a detector or accessories across county in 3 day by Priority mail, if going way down south than 3 to 4 days while 1 or 2 states away in 2 days. Takes UPS 5 days and sometimes even longer, once even 14 days after it was shipped to me and the boxes are crushed over 50% of the time, FedEx took 7 days to get me a package from Arizona to ND a week ago.
Maybe it where I live, but I always ship Priority mail and been faster. I like UPS Tracking service better though.
I just bought a used detector for one of my grandchildren and was sent out today from Texas UPSP and expect it on Saturday, so we will see if it will be here on Saturday as I expect it in 3 days.

Nope no snow days. No they didn't try to deliver the package. It was scanned into hazelwood and then bounced from machine to machine for three days.. i have never had an issue with the mail before. I don't have things shipped to me very often. When I called down there I got conflicting information. The tracking said it had left, then they tell me it's there, then I'm told it was on its way to me, then I'm told it was on its way back to the seller. I realize they have a huge job to do and thousands of packages to get thru a day. I'm just saying beware of shipping with them. It's feedback. I was just reporting an issue I was having:)

You can't trust UPS or FEDEX to deliver anything in a timely manner either. You pay 4 times the amount as USPS and it won't be delivered in anything less than 7 days, if it is then you got lucky. Why would they? If they delivered in 3 days then there is no incentive for you to pay the extra fee for faster service.
I had a package shipped from Kirkland,Wa to Spokane,Wa. That's less than 300 miles. It went from Kirkland to Kileen, Tx, then snaked its way north to Salt Lake, then somewhere in Oregon before making it here. 7 days. And it hasn't been one package its been several.
I have very little complaints about USPS deliveries.

I had a detector shipped to me via fedex from Ca. I live in NM, the package came right thru NM came within 55 miles of me, then ended up in Dallas TX, sat there for 2 days until it was passed on to USPS. Once they got it, had it in 2 days from Dallas back to NM 9 days in transit. I'll stick to USPS.

I have never had UPS or Fed-ex fail to deliver a package but I have had both of them leave very valuable items at the front door while I was not home. They also tend to place the package in front of the storm door so that I have to go out the back door and around the house as the storm door cant be opened without damaging the package. My USPS carrier leaves a not able to deliver notice in my mail box if I am not home.

I have only had one problem with USPS. Made a purchase, Seller shipped USPS with Tracking. Package got to Indianapolis and was damaged. It was then sent to the "Dead Letter Office". No amount of trying on my part or on the part of the Shipper would get them to send me my package even though they had the information in their system from the tracking number.

I did have one problem of my making with USPS. I sent a gentleman a package and put the wrong Zip code on the package. It went to the wrong post office, back to the city that sorts mail for that area, back to the PO again. This went of for about five trips from the post office to the sorting office and back. Finally someone wised up and noticed that the zip code was incorrect. The city that I was trying to send the package to was half way between the two post offices that kept sending the package back and forth.

Trust the USPS, UPS, or Fe-Dex?? I Don't Think So. I worked for a Retail Business for a number of years. We had a young Man who worked in our receiving department. He worked Nights at UPS and then came to our business and worked the receiving department of a morning. He and the UPS Delivery driver had a thing going where our employee would sign for the merchandise and the delivery driver would take it to a place where the two of them could sell our merchandise on the auction site. Cost the company many thousands of dollars in lost merchandise.

I do not know if it is still their policy but for a time UPS required that all Hand Guns be shipped overnight due to the number of guns that their employees were stealing.

There are Crooks in every business.
