USPO not all that

Is it me or the USPO . When i go there its mostly for metal detectors or parts.:clapping:
Thy try to up sell the most expensive system first.
I use to fall for that , [Oh it could take up to 15 day in general mail] line.
I always use a tracking # but it still gets there in about 5 days.

Then thy have that if it fits it ship deal , that i forgot yesterday when i shipped
a small package. The clerk did not say ,oh try that it might save you a buck or to.

They are hemorrhaging money right now....the clerks are trying to preserve their jobs. I agree, good customer service is to try to save your customers money so they perceive a good deal, but when your job is on the line because the company is losing money, you do what you can to increase profits. Not saying it's right, it's just the way businesses have had to change to stay alive in this economy.

I'm pretty sure the employees working the counter are now required to quote you prices and estimated shipping times for all applicable services (Express, Priority and Parcel Post/1st Class etc). The way it is done I would not consider it "up selling" as much as informing the customer of their choices. I ship dozens of packages every week with the Post Office and rarely have any issues. Their tracking system is no where near as good as UPS, but their lower prices are hard to beat and they ship to every address in the U.S.

I though the economy was turning around? Had a package sent to me by usps [600.00], never got it. It was insured, usps eat it. With service like this, you tell me! P.S., Got another package coming the same way.

except that it can take up to 6 months or more to get your money on a claim with USPS while UPS shells out asap

They have a website so you can choose your best shipping method ahead of time, instead of standing in line trying to figure it out. All you need is a scale to weigh your total shipped weight, and the zip code.
