Using the GT on the Beach......

I would like to hear what settings other beach hunters are using, and, why you chose those settings. Especially, the use use or non-use of Iron Mask. I have tried it both ways and I think it is a little noisier around the sea walls with it "off", but I think I hit more coins next to or in close proximity to iron trash.
My settings are:

Volume - all the way on

Sensitivity - 11-12 o'clock (sometimes as high as 8 o'clock)

Notch - Off

Disc - Just keeping nickles in

Silent Search

Pinpoint Mode

Iron mask - OFF

I use a Sun Ray S-8 coil and a straight shaft (I make them myself), total swing weight is 2 pounds. I have no problems pinpointing a target using the "X" method, so I rarely ever touch the controls during a 4 hour hunt. My Gt runs exceptionally smooth & quiet and I have a great Elite with the Silent Search mods from Dixie MD (Tenn) that I am comparing it to.
Anybody have any tips/tricks that work well on the beach?
