using the f5 on salty beach

on my way to myrtle beach in a few and planning on doing alittle sand hunting. was wondering if anyone has used there f5 in the salty sand.

Great on the dry sand but some problems in the wet. With ground balance and lower sensitivity it can be done but false targets do come up from time to time.

I pulled up and read the manual on the F5 ... I don't have one but it looks like it ground balances to the wet salt and has 10 clicks between numbers when ground balancing. That's more granularity than the 5 clicks on My F75LTD. Also looks like in all metal mode you display a target ID number like with the F75LTD.

So I'll go out on a limb and make a suggestion.

My experience with the F75LTD over wet salt is that in discriminate mode, it does false even when staying on top of the ground balance. Switching to all metal is a much better experience for me over the wet salt sand. The target ID gives an indication of what kind of target you are over. Iron booms and has a unique sound and sends the ID to 99 or very low and very bouncy.

Give it a try in all metal and keep on top of the ground balance.

Good luck and report back on what you find out (since I'm kind of guessing).
Cheers,
tvr

This is what the original F75 can do.
