Using 'Prospecting' mode as an all metal mode for relic hunting?

I'm new to detecting, so bear with me.

I know there isn't an all-metal mode on the MXT. I also know that I can hear deep targets when I'm pinpointing, but they won't necessarily ID or give a 'beep' that is distinguishable from 'noise' when using the traditional relic mode.

How about using the prospecting mode to help locate deep relics? I think (I'm still new so I'm not 100% sure) it gives a little bit more depth, makes it easier to identify a target from random crackles, and gives you a little bit of an idea as to what it is by the % that it is iron.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
