Using Pro and standard together???

Recently, I've been experimenting with my ATP. I run over a weak tone with pro mode but its showing a good range of VDIs. I rescan it using standard coin and get a much richer, louder bell tone. You have to sweep the area real slow and the standard coin seems to narrow the target down. I then switch back to pro-mode and still get a weaker tone but good VDIs. I dig and its just what the ATP told me it was both tone wise and VDI wise. Try it on an open hunt and you maybe surprized at the results. I'm using 5x8,one bar down from max and no iron discrimination. Works for me.

How deep are you talking? Pro mode is supposed to go deeper than standard and you will often get a tone with no vdi in pro, and nothing in standard.

I seem to be able to get a stronger, more defined tone in standard mode than pro mode. I'm talking in the 5-8" range. I get a high tone blip or soft tone in pro-mode run back to standard mode and get a stronger tone and if I use standard coin I can very slowly pin point the item closer. ( out of 10 times the readings, tones will be right as far as the object. I tried this method in an open field and found bullets at 8-10" in both modes using them both to verify the signal. Try it I think you will discover the same thing.

Proportional audio signals, one of my fav features of Pro mode. In Pro mode, the target signal will get softer the deeper it gets. Standard mode has a fixed signal volume, a signal will sound the same no matter how deep it is. I prefer the proportional audio of the Pro mode.

Even with my limited experience with the AT/Pro, I prefer the Pro mode. I still dig a lot of trash, but it sure can pick out a good target.
