Using Pin Point Mode

Everyone knows you can use the Pin Point mode to pinpoint because it should give you a smaller, sharper signal.
However, I use it many times to analyize that durn high tone signal that I might be getting as I pass over iron! If it is a coin, the pinpoint signal will be right over the coin tone and be fairly small. If it is a false tone coming off iron, the pinpoint signal will be loud and indicate a larger object than a coin. Also it will not pinpoint exactly where you heard the high coin tone!
Hope this helps you dig less false signals!

will go back to disc after i have pinpointed it and see if it still gives that great response or a null of iron.
Good Tip Jim.
