Using Mixed Mode

I made this video to demonstrate the audio of Mixed Mode. The target read 8.5 inches, deep enough to investigate. It turned out that this target was nothing more than a "cold rock". Unlike "hot rocks" which hit on +95, these minerals usually hit in the 0 to +5 range, but may sometimes mimic a deeply buried good target (as was the case here). A quick way to identify these targets (which can be a nuisance, especially at higher sensitivity levels), is by digging a quick 2 inch deep plug. If the target is in the plug yet still gives a deep, inconsistent reading, it is likely a cold rock.

Thanks for the video Neil. I think you are on to something with the mount and going in an instructional way. I know I appreciate any instruction from you experienced detectorists.
I learned on a Nautilus IIB and am glad to have the V3i so as to play with that mixed mode. I think it would be great if you could take some of the new folks deeper into the mixed mode (maybe some display screen video as well) as I remember it to be very powerful.

Thx!
