Using 'earbuds'??

This will sound really retarded, but! I have been using earbuds with the wireless for about 14 months now. About 3 or 4 months ago I noticed a tingling, itching sensation in both ears. Not all the time but quite often. I use full fingered gloves almost the time and if the earbud would fall out, I would just grab it with a gloved hand and stick it back in. Well, on my annual physical, talked to the doc about it and he says I have a fungal infection in both ears, probably from handling the earbuds with the gloved hands. So, if you use ear buds, and have an itching sensation or like a hair tickling the inside of your ears, better get it checked. Now, I carry/store them in a ziplock bag, with alcohol disinfectant wipes, and keep the ear buds clean, what most folks probably already do!

I had a goal of 200 silvers this year, and am at 162. 52 days to go and about 25 hunts. I gotta hurry! Hard to hurry with the CTX though.

Great heads up. I was actually wondering about infections. I use ear buds quite often.

I always use earbuds but haven't had this problem. However i only hunt beaches and really don't get the dirt on my hands, I can see where this would be a problem though. Thanks for the heads up.

I use earbuds as well however I always take my gloves off to put them back in my ears if they fall out. I don't want dirt on my ears or in my hair. Never thought about getting an infection. I do not keep them in a baggy but that is a good suggestion.

Thanks for the tips... I've never noticed anyone disinfecting when they take their ear buds out to talk for a minute...

Great information...

I have the Sun Ray Gold Pro phones, Minelab phones, Sony phones, but, all these have full ear cups and while they do a great job of keeping ambient noise down, they also hold a lot of heat. My ears get sweaty to the point I often feel like I've been swimming and got water in my ear(s). I have switched to some Maxwell over-the-ear and behind the neck headphones that have foam pads and have not had any problem with sweating. I'm sure the full cups will be great this winter, but, right now it is just too warm. I have not experienced any degradation of signals heard.....I still hear the weak signals, but, I can still hear what is going on around me, as well. I like them!
