Using AA Lithium Ultimates in a Minelab

Is it possible to use these batteries in a Minelab Advantage? The batteries are higher than 1.5 volts (more like 1.7). Is there a voltage regulator built-in to these machines?

All circuits have voltage regulation within reason say 20% of the base voltage. Beyond that you'll damage things. These Lithium cells work fine. I used them. Didn't get much more out of em than regular cells.

The book that comes with the unit specifically says you are NOT to use them. To me no pretty much means no.

I saw a post saying that lithium cells sort of pulsed out the current and some detector circuits didn't like this. Question is, is it true, but if the manufacturer says no then they should know.

Ok, I went back through the Minelab Musketeer Advantage instruction book and no where in the book does it mention Lithium batteries at all.

I have used the Energizer AA 1.5V Lithium Ultimates in my Safari and they worked fine. However, I think I can buy alkalines cheap enough to negate the longer lithium life.
