Using a propointer at the beach

Here in Southern California many of the targets I dig are virtually invisible even when they are in the scoop. Pennies completely encrusted with sand and small pieces of melted aluminum are especially hard to see. Most of the time I am in wet sand but the water can often be pretty far away. For a while now I've been using my pin pointer to find the target once I have scooped it out of the hole. I have to kneel down but I find it is much faster than trying to sift the sand through my sand scoop and easier on my arm. Of course the gold rings are pretty easy to see but for most targets the pin pointer really speeds up the recovery.
Cheers,
Jim

The older I get the harder it is to find that target. Sometimes the little earring posts and targets small like that fall through the scoop. I hate chasing the same target twice! I rectified this by getting the Pro Scoop /C. Small holes for small targets. If you can save yourself time using the pro pointer then go for it. I hate bending over at the beach. Bad back to go with bad eyes. Getting old is just plain hard to do. The only thing I would suggest is sealing the speaker hole. Wading with the pro pointer might not be good for it. You could use a Vibraprobe.

lol..on getting old,bad back ,knees, are we complaining??? id say yes we are, lol.lol wow its hard to pick up those targets twicw i have to agree, yes a good scoop will help allot, ive never used my pin pointer pro at the beach,i just use the detector to scan over target area again if needed..
