Using a NEL coil on Excal2

Will using a single frequency coil such as the NEL Attack coil rated at 7.5khz hinder the efficiency and full potential of the excal 2 since it is a multi frequency machine? Wouldn't the other frequencies be muted and undetectable by the mono frequency coil??

It appears that you are talking about a col for the Xterra since you mentioned the 7.5khz coil. The coils for the Sovereign GT and the Excalibur Ii both have an amplifier in the coil to boost the strength of the signal to the machine.

I can not see any way that the Xterra could work with the Xcal.

No, not talking about either. I am talking about the aftermarket NEL Attack coil. NEL says their Attack coil for the sovereign is a 7.5khz coil, states it right on their website. My question is if using this 7.5khz only coil on a multi frequency detector like the Excal 2 that puts out a range from 1.5 to 25khz be actually hindering the performance of the machine.

I’ve never heard of a Sovereign/Excal coil rated by kHz before. Maybe they do and I just never saw it. As you already know they’re BBS coils. If it’s listed for the Sovereign it’ll work on the Excal. How well it works I can’t say. I have one with a 12x10sef coil and it works very well.

Everything I can find about those coils that are rated at 7.5khz are for the Xterra. The coils for the Sovereign GT do not show a frequency rating as they are multifrequency.
