I used the "search feature" and didn't find much on the coil's performance. Anyone out there use this coil enough to report on its abilities and how it compares to other coils (depth & separation) that are close in size? Thanks - Jim

Well, I do believe I have found my answer

I use this coil extensively in dry sand and upper beach because of its sensitivity to small gold, including stud earrings and chains. Tones on a Sov GT are distinct, and separation is excellent. Depth is less than the Tornado 800, but is a little better than the S-5. You can run it hot if you want.
It is one of my favorite coils for the Sov GT.

sonnar thank you for your report. I just received the 10 X 5 treasureseeker today. Soon as the snow melts and the ground thaws, I am going to put this coil into overdrive.

Just know this: You buy the 10 x 5 coil you will definitely have to hip mount to use it. The cable is 95" long.

Jim good luck with the new coil. Let us know how it's working for you. Before I got the S-8 I was thinking of getting this coil. GS

Thanks Chris. I don't feel this coil will replace the S-8 or the tornado BBS 800 coil but it will be a great addition. I definitely want to pick up a Tornado BBS 800 coil. I'll keep you posted. - Jim
