Used Tejon cheap!

With First Texas coming out with the new top-of-the-line F75 LTD and T2 LTD units, a lot of dirt fishers buying them are saying what detector(s) can I unload to defray the 4 figure cost.

Going prices on good used detectors are coming down. Also the onset of winter contributes to lower prices.

I noticed a year old Tejon with very little use just sold on the auction site for $295.00.

That's an excellent price for a great detector which sells for $560 new.

Been there done that, sold a tejon cheap only to find out the new "super detectors" were not exactly that great.

i dont know if you relic hunt, but there is not a deeper machine out there than the tejon,,,,,period

Not really seeing the price drop on the used Tejons much....I think the price might have dropped a little a year or so ago, when these other machines came out. Most of the folks that I am in contact with that really relic hunt with their Tejons are not switching....

I'm sure most people with Tejons aren't selling, it's a fine machine.

But every time the "latest and greatest" comes out there are people that just have to have it. And that often means thinning the herd for some extra $ to better afford it.

And that's no knock on the F75 LTD either, reports are that it's a great detector.

The last 3 Tejons that sold on the bay went for 265, 295 and 335. And the 335 one was like new with extras.

I'm not saying the bottom has fallen out by any means, but those prices have dropped from what the typical used Tejon sold for not long ago.

I love a great price and good deal as well as every other person out there, but one may consider with Tesoro being one of the best detectors out there and the best warranty/service around, give thought in purchasing the unit new. I have owned an original Lobo, Lobo ST, and the Tejon. The Lobo's I bought second hand and the original Lobo was sent in for service in which internal parts and the coil was replaced. FREE including SHIPPING back to us. A detailed hand written instructions explaining exactly the trick to ground balance this unit was also included. This was done even when I had explained that I was not the original owner and to let me now how much the repair bill would be. Did I mention FREE, NO COST to me. I ended up selling both Lobo's in order to purchase a new Lobo ST. There was nothing wrong with either machines, I just wanted to support Tesoro. I bought a Tejon (new) instead. Great machine, was able to do a little more than the Lobo ST, but I could not use it near the wet salt sand and the Lobo ST I could. I relic hunt, water hunt and dry/wet beach hunt and the Lobo ST worked better. I sold the Tejon to buy another Lobo ST but came across a Troy Shadow X-5 I could not pass up. The X-5 is like the Lobo ST and the Tejon in one. It works great for relic and I can hunt the wet salt sand. Hits hard like the Tesoro's.
Anyway, I will buy another Tesoro (don't know which one yet) but it will be new in so that I am supporting this company which still supports us detectorists. I am in no way saying anyone should pass up a good deal especially if you have never owned a Tesoro and would like to try one with as little investment as possible, I am saying at least ponder the idea of a new one for the companies sake.
