got out this weekend at my "hunted out spot", and i hated the 70:ranting:...well atleast for the first 5 mins then i fell in love:thumbup: sure enough i missed a bunch! i only hunted about 2 hours total in a spot of the yard that i've gridded twice and hit it from every angle, couldn even get a singal with my other machines there anymore. the first three targets were junk, but the fourth was a 57' jefferson. then the next was a 56' wheat then a 44' war nickel then another wheat which was a 52'. found a nice skeleton key too. nothing great, but i still missed some older coins. i only did a fly by hunt on one side of the property. so im sure i've missed tons. its getting too cold now so ill have to wait till next year to get out with it again. it is the best machine i've used so far BY FAR!!!!!! it was very easy to learn, and this is the honest truth i never once used the numbers. the war nickel was about 8 or 9 inches deep with a nail right beside it:surprised:. my other machines are hitting the closet for good! i love the 70! guess now every time someone says they have already hunted this and that out. im going to ask them if they have a X-70, and if not ima laugh and say watch this!

Nice finds! The XT70 is a nice machine, my hunted out sites really did come alive again detecting with the XT70. HH, Mike

I just made a trade for a X70, and went out with it, but for a very short time and the ground was wet from snow, so I just played with the signals and didn't dig. My first thought was that it was going to be a bit of a learning curve in setting it up properly, and it was a bit noisy with different tones every few feet. But I think it was more me not understanding it or possibly expecting it to act like a few other TIDs I had before it. Without having a chance to really "get in to" this detector, I don't want to judge it with just 15 minutes in my test garden. Hopefully, it will impress me also, after I spend more time with it.

take it to one of your "hunted out sites" trust me it will surprise you... noise cancel first.. then ground balance it.. then switch it into pattern 1 and go. let me know how it works. a guy taught me this and it worked great for me. swing slow and listen carefuly

thanks, weston

Great job Weston, the more you use it the better it will be. What coil were you using? There is a wide variety of coils for every occasion. I really like the 6"DD HF and the 10.5"MF. HH Ken

Glad you like it . I hated my x-terra for about two days now I do not know what I would do with out it.

it sounds like X-70 is working good for ya right off the bat, that's what I like to hear.

P.S Hey Terry, it's nice to see that your passing on to others things that you have learned.

I got a X-305 last week for a backup. I took it to one of my hunted out sites just to get a feel for it. I found five nickels, none real old, and two wheats. Very good detector for the money.
