Use A Sifter ??

GotSilver?

New member
Hello you guys - I need some advice. I'm gonna try to get in the water more this year than last so I need a little guidance on using a "sifter" or not? I MD only in fresh water...no waves....lakes, ponds, etc. Do you have an opinion on using a sifter or just sorting through your scoop? Also, do I, can I buy one...or does anyone have good instuctions on making one? Thank you as always for your help...

My sifter has lotsa holes just small enough to prevent losing .22 cal. bullets that would keep me digging un-necessarily! (3/16" I think)

My old eyes have a tough time finding recovered targets in the scoop so I used this sifter I built until it cracked and now I use one my hunting Pal Frank built!

(Very similar, but sturdier.)

The 10'-12' tow line is snapped to my wader belt and it has weights on the rear of the basket to provide drag so wind and current doesn't push it around and it doesn't get in the way.

There is a net bag for larger junk disposal and (very important) there is no metal in the unit so I can use my coil and/or a pin-pointer to locate the target once it is in the sifter.

Hope this helps,
