A while back I posted about this bracket and how well it was working.

Since then I had it break and also one of the shaft mounting ears on the loop broke as well.

I cut an identical brackei from a plastic cutting board of about the same thickiness made of a "nylon" material that is softer and less prone to crack.

The new bracket was bolted on in the same way and then glued with "Shoe Goop" to the top of the coil to resolve the broken ear problem.

A new 1/2" PVC pipe brace adds support from the toe of the coil to the shaft allowing me to use the coil shaft as a brace during digging.

There is some additional drag, but it helps regulate my swing speed to a slower pace in the water.

A heavy plastic electrical tie strap adds strength too.

Several hunts have proven the strength of this arrangement as a viable solution to the coil getting out of alignment and my using it as a brace.

It ain't pretty, but works just fine!
