:usaflag:Tumbler works pretty good..

:usaflag:I let the third batch go an extra half an hour, and there were less pennies in it. They turned out the best. I think I got pennies down. Now onto the clad experiments.

And who was it that told me to use vinegar on clad and not pennies? Apparently that part went right over my head.. It did'nt work...lots of gas...vinegar everywhere. There's that learning curve again. I'll stick to water and Dawn dish soap for pennies.

Tried about everthing. Ammonia and dish washing soap work the best for me on clad.

I'll repeat myself.
I said when you use vinegar and a drop of soap plus the pennies a chemical reaction takes\place. You'll have a mess. Use just one drop of dish soap and keep your eye on it.
one to two hours is enough. Make sure the screw nut is tight or it will leak under pressure.

You should have no problem using clad with vinegar and a drop of soap. I have never had a mess with that.

I'll gibe the amonnia a try just to see how that works. The vinegar acts as an acid and works well
for me.

Old katz- Just wondering, if you tried the ammonia and dish washing soap in your tumbler. If you did let me no how it worked.

went out yesterday and got my harbor freight tumbler. set it all up . put in 56 pennies and aquriam rocks and 1/2 cup of vinegar. let tumble for 3 hr. checked in on it and had a mess. coins came out great. no soap was used. don't know the benefit of soap. forgot about the gas build-up. live and learn. :geek:

The drop of soap just helps clean the coins up. Pennies are a piece of cake; I check them when tumbling
just to make sure everything is ok. Remember to really tighten that screw nut but not to the point of
striping it.
