:usaflag: Tot Lot 11-24-08 finds

Bill in Texas

New member
:detecting: Well I am not new to this tot lot. My wife and I have been there several times. I did not expect to find much, as a bunch of other hunters also hunt it, and I didn't. I dug the most unusual item that I have ever found. It was a zip lock bag about half full of candy and a couple of pull tabs. It was about 8 or 9 inches deep in the sand and looked like it had been there a long time. The ants were loving it, so I put it in a near by garbage can. I dug a bunch of foil as usual looking for jewelry but found none today. The encrusted half ate up penny (the one under the front tire of the truck) was about as deep as I ever dug a penny (about 8 inches). The little bitty round coin looking thing has 07 on one side and Lego on the other. I am surprised the Vaquero picked it up as it is plated plastic (only about 1/2 inch deep). Oh well you can't win them all. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

Looks about like one of my hunts. At least you found a quarter! Too bad about the candy, you could have had a snack on the drive home! :stretcher:

Nice pick up truck there Bill!

That little plated lego piece is the type of thing I keep telling my self might be my next piece of chain or earring stud when I first hear it under the coil.

... in the tot lot! I too am surprised at the plated Lego thingie.

But most people forget what a sensitive unit the Vaquero really is.

That is how it goes with most of my tot lot hunts

ever sense I hunted them all.

They don't fill up very fast. But things do show up

from time to time.

I now have to be more inventive to find gold jewelry.

But I am determined to keep finding it.

Tha Vaquero is very sensative to small low conductors.

Tha depth on small gold is great. Better than my

Euro Sabre.

Thanks for sharin,

Tabdog
