I've worked in just about every kind of basement you can imagine as a plumbing repairman, but never one like this!!

I just showed that video to my wife and told her if we win the lottery that I want a basement just like that guy's. I am doing about 1/3 of my basement in a 1900-1920 era theme. Below is a photograph of the progress that I have made so far. Currently I have some additional old family photos that I am going to frame. Also, I am searching around for some period lighting for my next purchases. I am hoping to find a matching set of Tiffany style floor and table lamps, but they are not cheap. :( Beyond that, I have a list of period items that I am looking to add as funds become available, i.e., crank Kellogg wall phone, a brass blade electric fan, crank coffee grinder, wall mounted gas lamps, and anything else that catches my fancy.

Time, money, and the good Lord willing ... I would also like to build a mini 1890's style saloon area to dispense my home brewed beer from. You know, something that requires a suit, vest, bowler hat, and a nice walking cane in order to be served. :drinking:

Great job so far!!

Some of us seem to have been born in the wrong day and age, but if I had been born during any other of the ages past I wouldn't have lived as well or this long!

I remember my father talking about a speakeasy they used to supply back during the depression and before. It was only a mile from the old homstead. Fact the building is still standing but the VFW owns it now. I'm thinking Al Capone, Flapper days theme.... I still have one of the old copper stills they had on the farm and some of the coils. Always wanted to set them up. I saw your brew set up. You did a heck of a nice job with that.

How is your son doing overseas? Hope all going smooth there.
