My hunting partner Frank and I entered the water at 12:30 as soon as the tide was low enough for us to hunt at our chosen beach.
Both armed with Dual Fields and Diablos and ready for the hard work demanded of us by the Boulder Field and near by Rock Garden!!
Frank headed for the area I have named the Boulder Field and I opted to scout the rock Garden for any sand movement that may have given me a shot at targets I am certain are waiting there.
There was a section where the sand is 6-10" deep over the stony base and in a couple of hours I had a Merc, a few other coins and lots of junk brass along with a few pieces of junk jewelry and a couple of .38 caliber lead bullets.
I waded out over 100 yards from the waters edge at low tide and recovered a few more pieces of junk.
Then I slipped into the Boulder Field from the deep water side and joined Frank in struggling through the weed covered boulders picking up a couple of sinkers and several more coins. every target recovered a true test of skill and endurance.
At 3 1/2 hours Frank had to leave after a real workout.
I drifted back to the spot where I started the hunt and picked up another Merc and a small silver ear-ring and medallion.
I have hunted this area more than anyone in the past year and have covered every inch of it carefully, but I have learned to expect surprises there.
35' or so from the low tide water line there are a couple of medium sized pieces of junk metal a few feet appart.
I've skirted them several times and today decided to trace the outline of each one to determine how large they each are.
On the edge of the west end of the larger piece I was able to detect a solid, but distinctly separate target signal and when I recovered it I had this 6.5 gram, 14K wedding band from 1974!!
A few more coins and junk metal and the rising tide forced me to head for home.
5 hours, 50 targets recovered, including 2 Mercs, a 1935 Buffalo nickle and the other things described above.

This Old Hunter is tired, but content that I had another fine hunt to share.
