:usaflag: The 10X12" SEF Coil Works Just Fine On My Old Excal!! :detecting:

Several hunters more knowledgeable than I assured me that the old Excal with the horseshoe crab coil would work just fine with the new coil and it does!!

Many Thanks Old Beachnut and Davespen for getting me on track!!

I spliced the cable until the connector arrives and am using it on the beach and enjoying myself.

I have found a lot more targets with this new coil and added this 14K wedding band to my success stories.

Along with this huge stainless ring.

I'm looking forward to getting the coil out in the salt water.

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

PS while wet sand hunting for a short while this AM I did notice that when I got to another part of the beach the Excal started to chatter a bit.

I suspect there must be some sort of interference in that area.

I have it set up in permanent dive mode... But it is so good that i feel that it is sort of wasted in that format exclusively.

Calm seas

Hi Mikie,

The only problem is that the new coil has four wires and the old Excal has six wires and I didn't know for sure how to connect them without creating a problem.

With some expert guidance I was able to splice the wires together and now use the machine above the water-line until I have all the water-proof connector parts and can install it.

There are three ground wires that have to be spliced together to use the new coil.

Should you decide to put on a new coil send me a message and I can share what I have learned with you.

All the best to you and your lady Friend,

CJ
