Several hunters more knowledgeable than I assured me that the old Excal with the horseshoe crab coil would work just fine with the new coil and it does!!

Many Thanks Old Beachnut and Davespen for getting me on track!!:thumbup:

I spliced the cable until the connector arrives and am using it on the beach and enjoying myself.:clapping:

I have found a lot more targets with this new coil and added this 14K wedding band to my success stories.

PS while wet sand hunting for a short while this AM I did notice that when I got to another part of the beach the Excal started to chatter a bit.

I suspect there must be some sort of interference in that area.:shrug:
