:usaflag: Super Vaquero

Bill in Texas

:detecting: I have a few areas that are easy digging and other hunters keep them pretty clean (bless there hearts). When I hunt these areas I super tune my Vaquero. I start by setting it up in all metal with the threshold set so I can just verily here it and sensitivity about 1/2 way. Now I ground balance the machine. Once it is ground balanced I turn up the Discriminate knob just until it clicks off all metal, then I turn the threshold volume and sensitivity knobs all the way up. I then back the sensitivity back just a little if needed (sometimes it does and sometimes it don't) and hunt. It is so sensitive set up like this that I have to hold my metal digging tool behind my back to keep it from interfering. I was surprised how stable the V run set up like this over clean ground. For example I hunted like this yesterday and only dug 5 things in 1 1/2 hours of hunting. Three small pieces of foil, a hairpin (about 5 inches deep) and a very thin gold ring (with 3 diamonds) that was about 9 inches deep. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

Hay Bill,

Congrats on tha ring Bubba.......

I hit an area I could super tune my V at yesterday.

I was in tha woods. It is kind of a charge ta hunt
that way.

I'll put up with some noise if I have to. But not if
it's too nasty.

The Vaquero is truly deep seeking on small low
conductors. Super tuning seems to do it with
ease.

That aspect keeps winning my heart.

A lot of people don't realize just how little depth
they get on small low conductors.

If you have small gold jewelry 5" or more deep,
few MD's can reach it.

V is deep on small low conductors, even with it
turned down. Deeper than others turned all tha
way up.

I can

No mater how many times I find gold It is always a shock. At first I thought this one was a round pull tab. Its hard not to do a little dance! Bill in Texas
