The hunch was that I should try the spot where I found my last gold to see if the sand bar had changed.

Mr. Dual Field, Diablo and this Old Hunter waded out about 75' toward Long Island and got a fair signal.

My very first target was on the deep water side of the sand bar between a couple of "Boulder Field's" finest.

It was no more than a few yards from where I found the wedding band in my recent post.

It's 8.8 Gr of 14K and the tiny diamonds are real and the blue star saphire is in good shape.

It's the first "matt" finish I can recall seeing on a gold ring.

3 Hrs. and 27 targets (mostly junk) later I was forced to leave by the increasing SE wind and rising waves.

That there is a BEAUTY! Congrats!

A super nice ring and I wish I had your ability to have those 'hunches' to be able to find that gold!!! HH friend!!!

Beautiful ring!!! That might not be a matte finish, I had one that looked that way and it was from the sand blasting it. Good hunch though.

They don't happen often, but the last two rings I found in this spot were found after I hadn't hunted there for a while and one day I thought it was time to check it out! In both cases the ring was found early in the hunt and in this case was the first target recovered.

When I get an urge to drift off a grid path I take it and sometimes it pays off too.

GL&HH,

CJ

Very nice!!
