:usaflag: Snow On Miami Beach On New Years Day??

Our local beaches have quaint names and this one just happens to be Miami Beach!!

Last nights snowfall and this mornings high moon phase tide along with a calm gentle swell washing the shore made for an interesting composition this AM and I couldn't resist the heading!!

My "tide rock" is off Old Colony Beach and has been a landmark for hundreds of years.

Shown here it is at the maximum high winter moon tide with no wind to hold the water at bay.

Its top is barely visible in this shot and at extreme low tide it is almost completely exposed, a total fluctuation of 5 to 6'!!

This shot is in the other direction and the buoy is well off shore in this high tide where it was awash at the waters edge in another shot of moon phase low tide I posted recently!

The beach where I have lived for 40+ years is at the sea wall in the distant background.

My beach is called Hawk's Nest Beach and my house was one of the last built in this beach complex.

This completes my photo presentation of my "tide rock" and the adjacent beaches in all seasons.

I hope you have found it an interesting experience.

All the earlier shots were taken with an old Olympus digital camera and the more recent ones with my Christmas present--a Fuji 33WP digital camera.

All shots were hand held by a pair of 68 year old shaky hands and any blurring is not a fault of the cameras.

Regards and best wishes to you all on this cold New Years Day!!
