:usaflag:Short Dry Sand Hunts Before My First Job Of The Day!! :detecting:

An hour, a little more and often a little less of dry sand cruising for coffee money is one of my favorite ways to start the day.

Using a Sovereign GT and my home made sand scoop I have good days and bad days recovering coins, depending on how heavily the ground was covered the evening before. There are often several "Old Timers" there, one of them still using a hand scoop after many years of hunting the sandy beaches.!

A few mornings ago after a stormy afternoon closed the beach the day before resulted in $6+ dollars in clad and a handfull of snap tops and bottle caps.

I know the GT is telling me what is junk when I dig it, but I just hate to leave it there.

A couple of weeks ago I dug the three ring set in front of one of the bars at the waterfront. They were all in one hole and were meant to be worn as a set like they are shown.

This AM, in front of the same bar, I found the other two huge rings and when I pulled them outa the same hole it was dejavu all over again!!

Of course the Sovereign GT doesn't know they are junk and proudly told me they were there for the digging.

I have learned to like this GT, but gotta teach it to find gold and silver!!:clapping:

She must feel naked without all that bling...good thing its easily replaceable...Got to love beach bars, they contribute greatly to our hobby..GL

Really nice to get a full scoop like that...I hear you about the coffee money...thats really the only motivator I need to get out...seems like its a good day if a fellow finds enough to buy a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich...then, BAM! Big gold in the scoop! nice work there Cuppa! :clapping:

Nah, they're all junk!!

Some days I do get my coffee money:thumbup:, other days I'm lucky to find a crusty Zincoln!!

It's a fairly small beach area and gets hammered regularly by one and all, but I have found the good stuff there a few times over the years!!

GL&HH to all my Hunting Friends,

CJ
