:usaflag: SEF ON GT!! :detecting:

I wanted the option of using my Sovereign GT on dry land as well as water/wet/dry sand hunting.

After re-connecting the Min-lab electrical connector to the SEF cable (I had removed it to connect the coil to my old Excal Sword which died!) I mounted it on the factory shaft and set it up for hunting the dry.

Now I have a Sovereign In A Box and a dry land set-up and am ready to go!!

A trial run for a couple of hours on a heavily sanded in beach resulted in these targets recovered and now I am satisfied the 10X12 SEF coil is ready to hunt.

The cheap "Scorpion" butterfly knife is illegal to carry in most places, but if I can clean it up maybe I can use it in my workshop to pull staples.

GL&HH Friends,

can you tell if the SEF is deeper than the 10" coil ??

Gunnar, most of the targets were shallow and I'll need to get more time with the SEF to know if it is deeper.

My feeling is that it is, but I can't swear to it.

It does seem heavier, but I haven't weighed it to confirm,

I can turn up the sensitivity higher with the SEF. But I really never compared targets. But the SEF is indeed a very nice coil. There is no shortage of quality coils and variety of coils for the Sovereign.

nice finds - thanks for sharing. Neat butterfly knife. I have not seen one of those in years. I look forward to more of your posts / tests with the SEF coil. - Jim
