:usaflag: Ringing with the V

Bill in Texas

New member
:detecting: I went hunting a new area for me yesterday. The ground is very hard and rocky and is full of trash. Although I found no old items worth anything, I did find some old trash items. The ring is 18k GE on Sterling and is in very nice shape. It has a large cut CZ teardrop stone. I dug old round pull tabs, pieces of a galvanized wash board, screw tops, old small flatten cans, and a lot of the usual trash. I hunted with the Vaquero for about an hour and a half. I was completely exhausted as I am still not a 100%. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

Luckily, those sorts of rings behave just as their more desirable cousins do. When you find those, you know you are doing things right.

Will you read this and give me your response? http://www.findmall.com/read.php?18,861668,861668#msg-861668

Very pretty ring Bill!

dahut, yup. persistence in areas that people are active and digging pretty much everything above small iron is what it takes to get the jewelry.

:detecting: Well Dahut; I leave my detector on foil 95% of the time. I do sometimes coin-shoot a new area just to get a feel for the age of it, but one gold ring is worth hundreds of clad coins so I am a jewelry hunter. The only regret that I have is years ago I should have gotten a water machine and started hunting water. I don't show any gold rings that I find because of some things that happened in the past. I gladly give back any gold ring that someone can accurately ID without seeing a picture first. Bill in Texas :tesoro:
