Bill and his wife along with a few family members met me on the beach, only a few yards from where I found his ring in the water a few days ago, at 5PM.

I handed the wedding band to his wife to once again place it on Bill's finger!!

It was lost not 6 years ago as I had been told, but 10 years ago!

Bill and the entire family was very happy the ring was now where it belonged.

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

PS I thanked him for the $25.00 donation towards the cost of batteries and told him that if he loses it out there again---it's mine!!

Man! You sure have done your part to restore faith in Humanity and set a good example! That ring looks like a 4mm ArtCarved.
Nice Job, Cuppa! :clapping:

That's great CJ....Did u clear up the difference in were it was found? Did it move as far up/down the beach as u said...I guess after 10 years it would get tossed around a bit,but i often wonder..do they sink, swim, crawl,...from area lost to the spot that its found,I would think weather, weight,tides/current,rocky or sandy bottoms, would have cause and effect, and that peoples memory after many years could fade...whats your opinion, had any that left you scratching your head out of those 44....WTG..HH

The beaches where I hunt are located along the shore of Long Island Sound and are protected from major currents and erosion such as you would find on an ocean front shoreline!

If I had a way to prove it I would bet that every ring I have ever found in the water was within a foot or so of where it was lost.

The exception being those lighter rings that were lost close to the water's edge where even light wave action moves the sand and gravel around.

Rings lost there would drift downward, perhaps several feet, toward deeper water.

Once the ring has settled in among the stones we have as sub-strate it would take an earthquake to disturb it.

Thanks for the question Bob,

CJ

PS Bill's brother had me hunting in the wrong place as that is where he thought the ring was lost. Bill quickly cleared that up.

Awesome story! You are a good guy no doubt about that! I recon you right about the rings staying real close to where they are lost. What a nice story with pictures to. You should contact a magazine or newspaper. It's special, and to have the pics as well means they would be very interested to run the story....

Offered it to Fox News, but since they covered ring #43 which also was lost 10 years, I guess they weren't interested.

The first ring that made the paper was lost 40 years!

I guess if I wanta get more coverage I have to return one lost for 150 years to whoever is in the White House when I find it!!!

Been in the Hartford Courant 3 times, but decided sharing it with all my Hunter Friends was enough!!

Thanks for your kind words.
