:usaflag:Old pennies take a serious beating up here.

:usaflag:Found these yesterday up behind one of the apartments that I take care of. Indian is a 1906....could'nt coax a date off of the wheatie, but I'm sure it's older. The last two pennies I found here were an 1899 indian and a 1910 wheat. The soil sure is'nt kind to pennies up here...very acidic. I'm thinking that I will find my first Barber coin here next spring/summer. Have a nice sunday bouys..

:usaflag:Once I got them home I dropped them in peroxide to loosen-up anything possible. And in this case patience failed me once again. I am always so anxious to read the dates better that I rub and scrub right away. When what I should be doing is letting them soak in EVO for a month. Now unfortunately the Indian's date is more unreadable than before, so I am not cleaning it any further. I'll put it away and count it as my 4th IH for the season.
