A fellow hunter that frequents the local beach where I hunt covers a lot of ground with his high end detector and does manage to do pretty well. I take particular pleasure when I recover nice finds in his "foot steps" using my Ace 250.

He wears a beach shoe with very distinctive soles and I know where he has been and sometimes I recover goodies he has missed. My last nice item was the small 14K Crucifix I posted recently. Today it was this small sized, but heavy silver ring.

.45 Troy Oz. of silver. It ain't gold, but I'll take it!! (Along with the two dollars I found in his tracks too!)

and do a great job. I have one I bought for people to hunt with for first time, and find myself grabbing it more often as not in beach sand....I have a Garrett 2500 but its a heavy machine... Lots of bells and whistles on it, but like carrying a boat anchor around. To busy to hunt right now, haying, but still enjoy seeing everyone else's finds.

Nice to hear from you George! I hope you get caught up enough so you can hunt a bit.

The little Ace with an 81/2"X11" Ellipitical coil is a fine combo for beach hunting in dry sand.

I run it a bit hot with low Desc. and Hi Sens. so I don't miss much. (I do leave behind an area with a lot less bottle caps and foil etc. when I pass through it.)

Slow as you go with long even swings and small steps doesn't cover as much ground, but really covers it well!

GL&HH Friend,

You are having a great year Cupa... Me?? Not so much.. I STILL have not had a chance to get out.

When Alice gets over this latest operation, maybe I will have a chance. But those shoulders do not heal all that rapidly.

Congratulations on your great finds.

realize your wife had gone back in again for surgery. Here's wishing her a speedy recovery and back on her feet enjoying life. I try to stay away from under the knife as much as I can, but sometimes its the only option. Like you, I just try to keep moving and look for other ways to get done what needs doing. First cutting in full swing here for hay. It had been very wet so some areas where tricky to work around, often entire feels became off limits. Just to soft. We are going to try and do all round bales this year. Means less handling of the hay for Jane and I and its cheaper also. Been selling off a lot of accumulated STUFF from over the years here on Craigslist. Trying to shrink this all down. You need more time to kick back at your cabin my friend. Hard to do when your the jack of all trades. Hope summer goes well for you and Alice.

Too much junk around here... so we too have been divesting ourselves of some. Problem being, we still seem to accumulate more :):

Alice will be well in time.. She had a fully torn rotator cuff repaired.... But that means that all the chores fall on me.. But, you doo what you can.

Almost finished the firewood.. building a chicken plucker, etc, etc, etc,.. :):

anyway, hope that all is well with you and Jane.,,, we both have to find time to get out detecting and diving more.

Yesterday my Daughter-in-law told me she saw this very ring on E-bay with a seventy five dollar asking price as a collectable!:clapping:
