A fellow hunter that frequents the local beach where I hunt covers a lot of ground with his high end detector and does manage to do pretty well. I take particular pleasure when I recover nice finds in his "foot steps" with my less expencive Ace 250.

He wears a beach shoe with very distinctive soles and I know where he has been and sometimes I recover goodies he has missed. My last nice item was the small 14K Crucifix I posted recently. Today it was this small sized, but heavy silver ring.

.45 Troy Oz. of silver. It ain't gold, but I'll take it!! (Along with the two dollars I found in his tracks too!)

Thanks for your replies Fellow Hunters!!:)

The little Ace with an 81/2"X11" Elliptical coil is a fine combo for beach hunting in dry sand.:beers:

I run it a bit hot with low Desc. and Hi Sens. so I don't miss much. (I do leave behind an area with a lot less bottle caps and foil etc. when I pass through it.)

Slow as you go with long even swings and small steps doesn't cover as much ground, but really covers it well!
