A fellow hunter that frequents the local beach where I hunt covers a lot of ground with his high end detector and does manage to do pretty well. I take particular pleasure when I recover nice finds in his "foot steps" with my less expensive Ace 250.

He wears a beach shoe with very distinctive soles and I know where he has been and sometimes I recover goodies he has missed. My last nice item was the small 14K Crucifix I posted recently. Today it was this small sized, but heavy silver ring.

.45 Troy Oz. of silver. It ain't gold, but I'll take it!! (Along with the two dollars I found in his tracks too!)

Nice find CJ.

Love your finds and stories. Would like to hunt someday with you. Congrats. EZ

"ever tell him what you find behind him?"

Are you kidding??!!

He might slow down and swing more carefully and then my finds would diminish.

He does know I found the two goodies where he was swinging, but I'm not sure he made the connection and I didn't push it!!!

We'll see,

CJ

Thanks for your replies Fellow Hunters!!

The little Ace with an 81/2"X11" Elliptical coil is a fine combo for beach hunting in dry sand.

I run it a bit hot with low Desc. and Hi Sens. so I don't miss much. (I do leave behind an area with a lot less bottle caps and foil etc. when I pass through it.)

Slow as you go with long even swings and small steps doesn't cover as much ground, but really covers it well!

GL&HH Friends,

Wow, that is a whopper! That's a lot of silver, he must have been distracted or otherwise not paying attention to miss that. With all the luck you've had hunting behind him, you should team up for some hunts.

thanks for the pic

Cupajo,
Another nice ring you have found! Even in a fairly tight grid of an area things can be missed. I don't think any where that has human activity is ever completely hunted out.
Cheers,

Thanks for your replies Friends!!

Yesterday my Daughter-in-law told me she saw this very ring on E-bay with a seventy five dollar asking price as a collectable!
